Estimates
Here at Front Range Flatwork, Inc., we feel that estimating is a very important part of any concrete job. We will be happy to give you an honest “ballpark” estimate over the phone if you are just getting ideas of what your project might cost.
Because there are no two jobs exactly the same, we recommend that we meet at your location to go over the details of what the project will involve and give you some ideas and recommendations based on my 37 years of experience.
Some considerations that may affect the cost of your project are:
ACCESS:
Can we get to the site with a bobcat, without tearing up existing landscape?
Can a concrete truck get within reach?
Will a fence or gate have to be disassembled to gain access?
SIZE:
The larger the project, the greater the cost for materials (concrete, reinforcing, forming, etc.).
FINISH:
Custom coloring, finishing, and jointing almost always add extra expenses.
EXCAVATION:
Will any dirt have to be hauled off?
Will any road base have to be hauled in?
PERMITS:
Will a building permit be needed?
IRRIGATION LINES:
On remove and repair jobs, will sprinkler heads and lines need to be moved?
I do my bidding as if I were building the project for myself, friends, or family. Full thickness concrete over a compacted base with a grid of ½” rebar throughout is standard practice. Some contractors will give you a “bare bones” low bid, just to get the job, and then charge you for “extras” as the job progresses. We believe in being up front with our customers about all costs from the beginning so there are no surprises.
